One of his main jobs in Season 3 is to act as a liason between Doug and the Underwoods, even checking in on Doug from time to time during his recovery (at Frank’s request). In doing so, he affirms his loyalty to Frank while murdering the part of himself that risks feeling tenderness and deeper caring for another human being.Īfter proving to be a valuable member of the Underwood team in Season 2 (his value stemming from his ability to gather dirt on anyone), Seth Grayson (Derek Cecil) becomes Frank’s press secretary in Season 3. Conflicts abound abroad, too Frank butts heads with his chief international adversary, Russian President Viktor Petrov, over a treaty that is supposed to bring peace to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
